How to view the eBooks

Desktop viewing

The top toolbar, shown above, contains a number of icons which will help you view the eBook. When the eBook first loads you will notice you can click within the eBook area to view at full screen.

Thumbnail iconThumbnails: Click this icon to view all the available pages. This can be navigated by simply clicking and holding your left mouse button to drag the pages left or right. When you find the page you are looking for simply click on that page.
Table of contents iconTable of contents: As the name suggests, clicking on this icon will bring up a panel of the contents of the eBook. Where there is a plus sign next to a section title, it shows there are more sections to reveal. Click on the section title and more titles are revealed. To jump to the section you want within the eBook simply click on that title. When finished you can close the table of contents panel by clicking on the ‘X’ at the top of that panel.
Zoom iconZoom: You can zoom into the page by using your mouse wheel or by clicking the icon in the toolbar which will zoom in. Clicking the item again will zoom back out.
Bookmark iconBookmark: If you wish to bookmark a certain page for future reference. Click on this icon and it will open a panel which list the page you are on and any others you may have made. Click on the title to add. Or delete a bookmark by clicking the ‘x’ icon next to the page you no longer wish to bookmark.
Search iconSearch: An eBook can be searched to find words you are interested in. Click the icon to open the Search panel.
Home iconHome: Click here if you wish to jump back to the beginning of the eBook.
Auto flip iconAuto flip: If you wish to just have a quick view through the eBook click this. This will then automatically start flipping through the eBook. If you wish to pause then click the icon again.
Full screen iconFull screen: The screen icon will open the eBook up to the full extent of your browser window. To exit full screen mode simply click the icon again.

Mobile devices viewing

On mobile devices the bottom toolbar is used, shown above, contains a number of icons which will help you view the eBook. When the eBook first loads you will notice you can double tap within the eBook area to view at full screen.

At the end of the toolbar there is an icon with 3 dots, see below, which opens up another menu for extra functions.

Thumbnail iconThumbnails: Tap this icon to view all the available pages. This can be navigated by simply tap and holding to drag the pages up and down. When you find the page you are looking for simply tap on that page.

Zoom iconZoom: You can zoom into the page by using standard pinch gestures to either zoom out or zoom in or by tapping the icon in the toolbar which will zoom in. Tapping the item again will zoom back out.
Bookmark iconBookmark: If you wish to bookmark a certain page for future reference. Tap on this icon and it will open a panel which list the page you are on and any others you may have made. Tap on the title to add. Or delete a bookmark by tapping the ‘x’ icon next to the page you no longer wish to bookmark.
Search iconSearch: An eBook can be searched to find words you are interested in. You can find the icon under the extra menu by first tapping the 3 dots icon at the end of the menu, this bring up another menu where you will find the Search function. Tap thee icon to open the Search panel.
Home iconHome: Again located in the extra menu, tapping the home icon will take you back to the beginning of the eBook.

Team Access

How to set up your team access:

  • From the ‘My account’ menu select the ‘Team’ option
  • To view current members with access, select ‘Members

Adding new members of staff:

  • To give access to a new member of staff select ‘Add Member
  • Enter the email address for the member of staff and click Add member
  • The confirmation message that the email invite has been sent will appear and the number of seats remaining will update
  • Repeat the steps above for each member of staff

How your staff members access their eBooks:

  • The registration link will be sent to your member of staff and they will need to click the link to join (If they are already registered on the eBook platform, then they will just need to login)
  • Once your team member has registered or logged in they will automatically enter the ‘Content’ page and see a message reading ‘Success! You’re a now a member of >>Your Team Name<<
  • To Access the eBook your staff member can click the ‘View’ button
  • Once they have completed these steps, your staff member will receive the confirmation email with subject line: ‘Your Arboricultural Association eBooks account has been created’ and select the ‘click here to set your new password’ option

How to remove access for members of staff:

  • In the ‘My account’ area – Simply click the ‘Members’ menu option and click Remove
  • Once you have removed a staff member you should then have an extra ‘seat’ remaining – which means access can be reallocated by inviting a new member of staff
  • You can also switch management of staff eBook access by viewing the Members list and selecting the ‘Set as manager’ option
